When we saw that she had tried for a free family photo shoot with a photographer where she rounded up more than 500 votes and lost by less than 10 we thought that we would give her something for her efforts. We were excited that they were open to doing the fair, it made for an awesome shoot!

Back in February we did a photo session with Carly and Charles along their weight loss journey. They have continued to lose weight and 6 months and a sweet baby later check out how they look!! This was taken back in August and they are now nearing their goal weight!

When we found out that Charles and Carly were on their weight loss journey and how far they came we decided that we wanted to help them show off their accomplishments. Charles has lost 202 lbs and Carly lost 98 lbs before getting pregnant 3 months ago. Enjoy their accomplishments. We are so proud of them. Keep an eye out in the future for more pictures and updates on their weight loss journey.

A few days before we were to take pictures with Kyley and Brock we received and email from them saying that Brock had been playing basketball and had received 2 black eyes, a broken nose and some stitches. Once he got to the photos we luckily didn't seem to notice his black eye with the help of a little makeup. Brock and Kyley's photos turned out beautiful.

As we pulled up for this photo shoot and got out of the car we realized it was pretty cold outside with a breeze. As everyone got there and we began to take some pictures I think we forgot about the cold and just had fun with the Sanders.

I have known the Hamelwright family for a long time so when they asked if we would take their pictures we were excited. Carly and I have been friends for a long time. Her and her husband have decided to lose some weight with weight watchers. When we pulled up we saw this girl and didn't recognize her. It was Carly. She had lost 95 lbs! Her husband is doing amazing at his weight loss and has lost 170 lbs. Such an inspiration. We look forward to doing a photo session with Carly and Charles through their weight loss journey.

When I found out that Glaucia was from Brazil and had only been in the states for 2 weeks I wondered how well we would be able to tell her what we wanted her to do. James went on his mission to Argentina but Spanish and Portuguese are a bit different. As the session started Glaucia followed my gestures and understood most of James Spanish and with the groom running late that came in handy.

As we began the session with Holly, Jeremy was still on his way. While she was on the phone with Jeremy telling where we were at the Mesa Temple, Holly began to feel like she had her own paparazzi with James shooting away at all different angles while she was on the phone.

While we were in Utah we got to do an engagement session with April and Matt. As we pulled up that Saturday morning we were surely not in Arizona anymore. In the shade April could not refrain from shaking from the cold. Once the sun got over the mountain there at Sundance it was just lovely outside.

As the time was approaching for Krysten to get married her aunts decided to do a party for her with all her girl cousins. We were asked to do a little photo shoot with the girls. I think that they had just as much fun as we did.

Mark and Meta aren't your typical couple. When it came to the shots that involved kissing, Meta was the one right there ready for it, while Mark pulled on the reins. We had so much fun with them shooting their portraiture and then their wedding day a few days later. We hope to be able to shoot more events through their lives, we just loved working with them.

As we had scheduled this family photo session with Kirk and JaNae we counted on it being hot. As we drove to the location we came to realize that it was not unbearable outside for being the middle of June in the desert. We even more happy to see the lovely cloud cover that had come together during the day. This made for beautiful skys! Add to that kids that love their picture taken made for an easy session with these guys!

As we came to take pictures with Kristen and Steven at the Mesa Temple it was the perfect day to take pictures. The days before had been getting hot but with a little cool front, a few clouds and a slight breeze we couldn't ask for much more for a day in May in Arizona.

When we heard 12 adults and 17 kids we thought to ourselves this might be interesting.... The Gledhill family was a great family though and pleasure to work with. Considering the ages of these children they handled it quite well and let us know when they were done. We look forward to working with them in the future.

As I drove up to meet Steven and Kristin a couple Saturdays ago I saw all these tents around at our location and tried to begin to process what I could do. There was the Scottsdale Arts show. They were good sports and we took the shots that we could and then planned to meet up later that day at Freestone park. We got some good shots with them and are excited to work with them in a month or so for their wedding.

As we went to take portraits with Kieren and Anson down at the temple we could see around the grounds that it was the season for weddings. With brides and grooms and their families all over the grounds we saw that we had our work cut out for us. Luckily they were a very easy couple to work with and we got some beautiful pictures without too many people in the background.

New Camera

This last week Lynne and I received our new camera. We had been shooting with the Nikon D200 and I had loved the images. But with new technology has come better cameras. We are loving our new Canon 5D Mark ii. For those who are not familiar it is a 21 megapixel, full frame sensor camera. It also shoots full hd video at 30fps. The low light capability is fantastic and it produces very smooth images even at high iso's.

Anyways here are a couple of pics I snapped of Lynne reading to the boys tonight before bed.
